Beschrijving
Known as one of the greatest interpreters of Chopin’s piano music, and representative of long tradition of French romantic piano playing handed through Alfred Cortot and Samson François, Jean-Marc Luisada is also noted for his interpretation of Schumann. With this new recording, Luisada returns to two masterpieces of Schumann, 30 years after his first recording.
After winning prize at Chopin competition in 1985, he started recording for French label, Harmonic Records, and he recorded Schumann’s Davidsbündlertänze & Humoreske as his second album for this label in 1988. His Schumann recording instantly caught connoisseurs’ attention and eventually led to his signing to Deutsche Grammophon and international recognition.
With 30 years’ experiences of performing worldwide, and with much deeper understanding of these pieces after his first recording, Luisda recorded his new interpretations, enriched with full of exquisite nuances and unique insights. Luisada himself proudly claims that this album is “MY BEST RECORDING EVER”.
Recorded in Jesus-Christus Kirche Berlin (famous for many of Karajan’s recordings in 1960/70s) with DSD technology, and produced by Cord Garben (former DG Producer and pianist/arranger)
