"Folk Songs from the Eastern Counties" is het derde in een serie van vier albums met alle 81 Engelse volksliedjes gearrangeerd door Ralph Vaughan Williams voor zang en piano of viool. 57 van de 81 liedjes zijn nog niet eerder in deze arrangementen opgenomen Dit derde album bevat 21 titels, waaronder 14 wereldpremières. De belangrijkste verzameling (15 titels) bestaat uit volksliedjes die Vaughan Williams zelf verzamelde in de "Eastern Counties" - voornamelijk Essex, Norfolk en Cambridgeshire - en in deze arrangementen publiceerde in 1908. Dit zijn dus de vroegste werken in de reeks. Daarnaast zijn er "TwelveTraditional Country Dances", gearrangeerd voor Maud Karpeles in 1931, en liederen uit "The Penguin Book of English Folk Songs" en uit "The Motherland Song Book".
